Social media doesn’t just categorize the work we do; it’s integral to who we are as a company. This year, we continued to work for brands like Wilson and Red Bull, launched the iconic Rolex brand on social to its global audience, and hijacked the NBA draft with Google Glass ...for fun. We continue to have the best strategy, creative and development teams in the industry. While other agencies expand their offerings to include content studios and newsrooms, we merged with the #1 video content media company in the world. Now, we’re married to VICE, and we’re ready to tag team and kick the digital industry in the face. We are creators of social and digital campaigns that bring together technology and brand strategy.
In 2013, Carrot won the Shorty Award for Best Midsize Agency, and rose to the challenge to do it again. We were honored for campaigns for Red Bull, Home Depot, Jaguar, CMT, Wilson and more. And we continued to innovate for the sponsors of our adventures - including Oakley + Sunglass Hut (hosting a national scavenger hunt), Lord & Taylor (digitizing a fashion lookbook), Target (creating a series of Facebook campaigns), Blue Chair Bay (concepting a tropical escape known as Blue Friday), Rolex (launching the brand on social media), Barilla (creating the brand’s first Instagram recipe shorts), MTV (leaking Teen Wolf’s trailer through gamification), Warner’s (glamorizing bras with Vine) and more. To launch our new Sports & Entertainment division, we overhauled the NBA Draft - without brand support or a budget - and outfitted the #2 pick in Google Glass, securing 300 million impressions in one night.
Carrot continues to be one of the most public private companies out there. In 2013, we re-imagined our website to show off everything that carrot ‘is.’ With a unique URL structure, carrot.is: a VICE company (carrot.is/avicecompany), a featured Made in NY tech company (carrot.is/madeinny), #450 on Inc.500’s fastest growing companies list (carrot.is/inc500), and we are now 25% more crowded (carrot.is/people).
As a preferred developer, we launched a new Tumblr that celebrates the social blogging platform’s style and highlights Carrot’s culture. We released the "Carrot HandApp," (our employee handbook as an iPad app), and have integrated our custom People API into our various digital properties.
We continued to support the DUMBO community, earning a spot in the inaugural "DUMBO Dozen," presented by the DUMBO Bid. Our global event series Digital DUMBO, opened dd:Outpost - a coworking space, sponsored by Microsoft’s BING. Carrot also invested in legendary Brooklyn pizza brand Fornino, opening the rooftop beer garden on Pier 6.
